Benjamin Bratt shows great game of Puerto Rico poet Miguel Pinero with all the dark aspects of his character, but he managed to convince me with their brighter side as well. The film is itself a work of art, almost a poem, following the lives of Piñero in New York's Lower East Side during the seventies and eighties. Piñero of poetry and writing made him famous - is playing its commercial success and who wrote and acted in "Miami Vice" - and is essential for the growth of "Nuyorican" culture. The cast is great all the way, especially Giancarlo Esposito and Rita Moreno come across as incredibly warm heart best friend and mother who does not renounce Miguel, despite his difficult personality and lifestyle. The film was shot entirely on digital video, giving it a style of street appearance and a great touch of reality. The time is a challenge structure and the use of both black and white and color make it a visual treatment. A MUST SEE my favorite for next year's best actor Academy Award.
Besides acting as Pinero think that is his is a serious flaw in the film as it does not really know why it is so Pinero self-destructive and can not keep a job. We see in flashbacks that he was abused, but that is just scratching the surface. Who was this guy? I really do not find, but Benjamin Bratt is excellent. A career changing performance. In addition, I have always liked Michael Wright. Typecast has been done to death and a pile of trash, but I've never been disappointed in any performance he has given and that is good in this movie, as usual.
Pinero finally makes it to my five films of 2001. It is one of the best movies I've seen. I am completely immersed in the history of this multifaceted artist who lived his life with drugs and poems, success and the streets of the Lower East Side. Benjamin Bratt gives a surprising performance - far from the "nice" characters who used to play. I totally bought into it Pinero. I was not a second to think of him as Benjamin Bratt - is Pinero with all their might.
I was anxious to see Pinero, like the actor Benjamin Bratt. I thought it might be similar to other films with Hispanic themes, such as' Before night fell, 'or' In The Sea "- both films that I enjoyed. Unfortunately, this is not the case here. The film falls short on several levels. I thought overacted Bratt, most often comes from swaggering like a quasi-cool Hispanic Matthew McConaughey (and I do not think we need another), instead of a "street wise" urban poet. His character Pinero does not have a shred of likability to him, his art and apparently was not the case, I found poetry created somewhat shopworn. Like others, I could see no reason why this man was an important personage or artist, or why exactly was a "feeling of New York." The management style is too confusing. It's probably just me, but I sometimes do not know what the decade I was in, what steps were being 'on stage', and what actually happens in real time. This fall edition of the court also seems a bit dated as well. In short, I still like Benjamin Bratt (who does not need an approval), but did not find that this is a good film.
They make us well to replace the words "Director's Cut" with "Director of the slice." I was fascinated by the life of Miguel Pinero, inspired by his poems, and blown away by Benjamin Bratt's performance, but the director and editor conspired for a jug of another good movie. In short, Leon Ichaso tried to use a "nervous" to imitate the style of life Piñero nervous and it is agonizing to watch. I have come to accept the presumption of fractured narrative, but I just can not stomach the leap without cuts, refocusing chamber unnecessary, and worst of all switches between the professional-looking color film and kind of push-button, digital , In black and white that I associate with low-budget television programs. If none of that was innovative accept me as the director's prerogative, but even in 2001 was not the least bit innovative. As I have said it is a good story and Bratt exceeded my expectations by a power of ten. I really recommend "Piñero" firmly, is a nice movie worth and deserves to be seen. I wonder what might have been if the shadow of MTV is not hanging over him.
Pinero is, to put it simply, a brilliant film. The representation of the life of poet tortured by Leon Ichaso is nothing short of breath-taking. The disjointed chronology, the flashbacks, the constant juxtaposition of black and white and color films that this movie really bring out the essence of the life of Pinero. Bratt does an excellent job of imitating the man, right at the New York accent, and I must say that I am a bit disappointed that this film, and specifically Bratt, is not recognized in the most recent nominations. The "Searching for a Cause" at the scene of the rooftop is one of the best in the movie, and really sums up the attitude and the general atmosphere of the film. At a time when the creations of Hollywood are falling into the creativity and spirit, this is a refreshing change. Thanks Ichaso, Bratt and, especially, Miguel Pinero.

Download Pinero Movie Here'Pinero' tells the story of the explosive life of a Latino icon, the poet-playwright-actor Miguel Pinero, whose urban poetry is recognized as a pre-cursor to rap and hip-hop. After doing time in hard-core Sing-Sing for petty thefts and drug dealing, Pinero's prison experiences developed into the 1974 Tony-nominated play Short Eyes. The resulting notoriety and fame was too much for the Latino bad-boy genius who retreated to the darker corners of New York City.
