| I have only seen this To Live and Die in L.A. Action film once, for a period of my life, beset by an intensive use of various hallucinogens. As a result I felt very David Lynch, Donald Cammel and seen so many of his films at the time while in a kind of "improve" the state. I'm still undecided whether this the best experience, the repetition of visits "Fire Walk with me," while not less sober stranger cable. | In this slick thriller, a Secret Service agent looking to avenge the murder of his partner. Friedkin tries to regain the magic of "The French Connection," for another scene of spectacular pursuit cars. While the prosecution is exciting, is not enough to save this film, which is all style and no substance. The fabric is designed and clichés, the dialog is amateur and cheesy score by Wang Chung is in line with the MTV-like aspect of this movie, which is not a good thing. The date and time is rarely on the screen for no apparent reason except a lame attempt to give an urgency to the plot. The performances are not bad, especially Dafoe as the bad. |
| Come on boys and girls ......... Fast cars, beautiful women and a very strange plot. Many movies have been in worship breathed much less. While Dafoe is not Steve McQueen, who is undoubtedly the work done for the film: To Live and Die in L.A. in the best style of The French Connection. Even the names of the characters are twisted. EDF called OPORTUNIDAD MAESTROS and called a criminal. Makes you wonder if it really good pay? Chicks .... hot sexy and smart enough to survive the "master" or a Rick anyway. Wm. Peterson has been a CSI and Daofe in Spiderman. COME IN THIS TOWN .......... is one of the best movies EVER .......... .... Remember, entertainment is just to do these things. This To Live and Die in L.A. film has to come out on DVD to appreciate the cars etc ... We all band together and our backup copy NOW |
| There are "Cop movies. 'Buddy' film: To Live and Die in L.A. and 'Partner' film. This is definitely one of the 'Partner' category. The same kind of magic that Gene Hackman and Roy Scheider shared Freidken 'The French Connection." .. I just pick up and watched "to live and die in LA 'on DVD and my socks fell for the umpteenth time ... The expected standard, cookie cutter "Cops and Robbers" the To Live and Die in L.A. Action should go elsewhere. Friedken depth on this! Having a small budget and then a clutch of no-name players. Planting in parts of LA nobody sees. And they unleash improvisation, romp and play. And then create some of their best work! .. William Petersen plays Secret Service Agent Rick Chance. Who hunting Artists / Conterfeiter / With Eric Masters. Played with good evil joy Willem Dafoe, with a little less passion Psicosis ... The segments are doing Dafoe "Funny Money" are the most detailed and surprising as the scenes of the violent fringes order ... Mix in a great location shots. Some surprising persecution. | This To Live and Die in L.A. Action movie fits my definition of a good movie. I left the theater (which snuck being minors) confused, bewildered, and continues to believe that days later. This is a complex and well written, morally ambiguous, well acted, and paradigm breaking action film. A gut wrenching prosecution does not hurt either. Good things for someone who had not seen much, but Young PG typical action To Live and Die in L.A. Action fare so far. There are very few films, as well for comparison. In retrospect the rating was very restricted just because of violence, sex, language, and were really extreme. Since I was a fan Wang Chung can not remember when the music is bad, but perhaps the time to change my opinion. I see him again. |
