Khan Chittenden and Brenda Blenthyn stole the show in this touching and down to earth drama. It's so great to see films every day in the suburbs of Australia, a shame we had to import the main character, I would have liked to see an Australian in that role. Some points of the plot is stretched a bit, the scene of the wedding is so good, but in fact they are real people to deconstruct and aware of themselves to make such insightful comments at weddings - I've never actually seen that happen. If you're scratching your head that I'm talking about, where Emma Booth said to always longed for his daughter after what happened between them and their problems with Khan.
This film: Clubland is about a middle-aged woman, that life goes through changes in his career and family structure. "Clubland" can hardly be described as a comedy. It seems a little funny. Even the argument contributed to be deliberate and Jeannie could save a comedian. It is simply not fun to watch Jeannie make life miserable for everyone. The end is pretty bad, as Jeannie makes a complete change of heart without apparent reason. I must say Brenda Blethyn is good, and Emma Booth is really beautiful. However, these advantages are not enough to save "Clubland" to be a bore.
I recently saw the screening of the film, entitled "Introducing the Dwights." Who knows what name will finally be released when the U.S.? This DVD film Clubland is a charm. The characters are very real, and totally credible, and the story is told with so much love and emotional depth. How many times a comedy really hysterical, especially the awkward teen romance scenes, which could have easily Veere bad andalusia American Pie 'territory, but achieved success of the brand. The story is one of family relations and Broken Dreams, set in the suburbs of western Sydney. I laughed and cried, but mostly laughed. It's the kind of Clubland movie that could have friends, boyfriend, little brother or mother to see, and I think we all enjoy.
This is a very disturbing film. It could have been excellent, but it is also appropriate. There is much to like about it, the most important action by Brenda Blethyn. Always a pleasure to see women on the edge of a nervous breakdown, steals the show again with his quivering lower lip and comic timing, but we have seen a very similar performance in Secrets and Lies, although with less variation. Brenda Be careful! You are at risk of getting typecast. The major problems relate to the DivX Movie Clubland script (underdeveloped, bends, loose) and the two young leads whose performances are uneven, and that is about all kinds of Khan Chittenden is not a leading man. The other problem is this is the formula in the form of Sundance - family drama, quirky characters, conflict, joy, sadness and humor - traits that are not in themselves bad at all, but this combination of Clubland Comedy movie come together and helped make it seem, built too much and too predictable. Is it still a good movie? Yes, if you can spend the first half hour is very little, but it is also a missed opportunity.
Well, Blethyn offers reliable performance entertaining, if somewhat derivative of "Secrets and Lies" and "Little Voice" characters. Khan Chittenden with his endearing child is very real, but just to articulate both the tenderness of the family and new girlfriend - very masculine Australia. Emma Booth thought rather unsympathetically writing, and some pictures of her ass free drooling in panties adds to the feeling of soap-whore by her son. For me, showed very little natural charm with which to overcome these drawbacks. But for me the most pleasing to see this Clubland Comedy movie was Rebecca Gibney, the real "lady" of Australian television, playing a sozzled tramp best friend ... He did very well, deglamourising itself in the way that Liz Taylor and Bette Davis was halfway to his career, and I want someone to give him a juicy role of cinema ... Overall, this was a character study than a narrative film, but the characterizations and interactions are not always plausible. Gibney to view slumming Blethyn and delivery of Nutbush city limits in the end ...
Thank God that someone has made a movie: Clubland that deals with something other than drugs or pulling children stricken Westie inside clowns. This is a beautiful, intelligent, and stimulating discussion of dreams big and small, and the dignity of the aspirations, no matter what might be. Brenda Blethyn and Frankie J Holden former husband are wonderful, both in the representation of the bittersweet life of not-quite-done-that artists. Their lives consist of theater posters decolourisation and anecdotes of recent victories, as they now lead a life of unimaginable monotony, who works in a canteen, and as a security guard at a K Mart. That is the configuration. Emma Booth appears, a vital force of sexual energy and optimism, which fascinated his son to become his whole life upside down. Without telling us anything more about the history, just say this is a Clubland Comedy that works on all levels. Emma Booth is a great new talent - sometimes beautiful and drop dead sexy, at other times as simple as a minor girl of any purchase - in other words, a true child of the fund. Highly recommended.
