This Shine film was a very interesting and pleasant surprise, though sometimes this obsessive theme of the parent driving a child is crazy overloaded. However, it is a very well done film. Geoffrey Rush is fascinating in the lead role as David Helfgott. " However, I would give prestige to equal Noah Taylor, who played Helfgott as a teenager, and Armin Mueller-Stahl, who was the father of Helfgott. They are as impressive as Rush. This is supposedly a true life story of child prodigy pianist from Australia. As you can imagine, the music here is excellent. Even better is the film. Wow, this looks and sounds fantastic on DVD. Although not always pleasant to see, the story is fascinating; hard to make once you've started watching. The final I turned around with the stopper open to astrology, but it's a happy for all parties and at least leaves the viewer feeling satisfied. In all, a very intense, beautifully-photographed biography. |
This is a good Shine movie in every sense, but it means more to parents with strong points of view:). The story of a brilliant young pianist whose relationship with his father leads him to some kind of mental illness. Watchable, absorbing, brilliantly edited, very serious movie, one of the few films that pays attention to sound incidental. Wonderful leadership and action. This is a good Shine movie seriously. |
I do not, but why now, when for the first time considered this a few years ago I did not care for it, but after seeing once again I was very impressed. Maybe because I've grown by more than appreciation for classical music in that period. I really do not understand how I could have lost the excellent image of the nuturing / stultifying father-son relationship, or poignant way that David can be expressed only through the piano (notice how I practically only apothems). This is a great movie. |
A brilliant film, an intense story, directed and performed very well. One of my favorite movies ever. I think George Geoffrey was amazing in this Shine movie ... became Helfgot and did Mueller-Stahl in his role as the father. Sir John Gelgud plays a very important role in the drama as the teacher who makes a notable difference in getting the best of Helfgot. It's a song to the courage, love and music. A must for all music lovers ... usually people emotionally. It can be very useful for teaching parents how not to raise their children with talent and that shows how love overwhelmed at times can be dangerous to the physical and mental security of our children. |
"Shine" is a pure joy to the eye. Produced in Australia, which tells the true story of piano prodigy David Helfgott. Helfgott suffered a major nervous breakdown on the threshold of an impending great career. The story is shown through a psychologically trying childhood, his teenage years, when honed their skills to stay in a mental asylum, and their subsequent return to stardom. Noah Taylor and Geoffrey Rush (in a well-deserved Oscar-winning turn) Helfgott played during his adolescence and adulthood. Armin Mueller-Stahl is also excellent as the abusive father (in an Oscar nominated performance by). However, the DVD film Shine positions on several occasions. This is bad considering that the DVD film Shine is only 1 hour and 45 minutes. Lynn Redgrave's role is terrible, it's completely wrong for this movie. "Shine" is a good example of a near miss. The Shine Biography film is very good in almost all respects, but keep those problems "Shine" as the masterpiece that should have been. 4 out of 5 stars. |
Download Shine Movie HereBased on the true story of Australian pianist David Helfgott, this delightful movie charts the early and traumatic early years. Telling the story in flashback we see David as he grows up and into a child prodigy while his father abuses him and his siblings with the memory of his childhood in Europe and the loss of his family in the concentration camps. David finally breaks away from his father and goes away to study overseas, he later suffers a breakdown and returns to Australia and a life in an institution. Many years later he is released and through several twists of fate (in reality even more unlikely than film portrays) he starts playing a piano in a bar before finally returning to the concert hall.
