| Having been raised about the reading of the Bell Witch was very excited when I heard of the DivX film American Haunting, An comes out. I finally came to see him yesterday evening. He was good until it started to add things to the story. When the child sexual abuse reveals bothers me beyond. They documented a very real concern and turned it into a thing in Hollywood. I guess they could not figure out how to add blood and gore it added. Please, do yourself a favor .... do not rent the movie. Go buy the book at the site. Enjoy the best !!!!! I would read the book had spent the night rather than seen this poor attempt to make a true Hollywood story of ghosts. |
| Probably the worst in the pan-I think I have ever seen: We zoom Sissy Spacek in the brain and in the solution of a pulsating portentiously neurons in his brain circuits, we are presented with a series of images in sepia tones the outline of a spark of brain cells, to a soundtrack of thunderclaps "the penny drops." No doubt inspired by an episode of CSI Miami, is a strange piece of filmmaking, totally out of tune with the topic. Cinema, Cinema in particular the U.S., seems to have lost all sense of moderation and realism. Of course, a ghost of its history, but why suddenly say that we see in people's brains? | For there to be many of them to any theater that is showing this film. The premise of the DVD movie American Haunting, An is absurd, indeed, to the point of not being practical. Tell me how it is possible that the father (Sutherland) to commit these acts of corruption, but he has the power to throw things across the room, do other hallucinations, be invisible in front of others (his wife and their teacher) and if this were not enough to hurt himself. There is no conceivable way that the father could have done all the wrongs in this movie. It seemed that there was an interesting idea, and only gave in to group. | This DivX Movie American Haunting, An is one of the most incompetent made films I've seen. I can not believe that anyone actually make money for these people to do so. It is a completely incoherent mess. The commercials he did see very well, so I expect to see it. And I love a good ghost story. But this is just a horrible and stupid. Never write such comments, but wanted to warn people away if they were thinking of spending a few dollars, or spend a few hours, wasting time and money to see this piece of dreck. |
| This will scare the pants off or at least just really entertaining. The disturbing Bell took place in Tennessee in 1800 and lasted four years. Immediately suspicious neighbor, Kate Batts, an eccentric character who once was John Bell's business partner in a land deal that was wrong. Kate cursed the family, the health of Mr. Bell, and daughter Betsy Bell. I am not going to end and tell you what happened to this family but we continue on their journey as his life changed forever by this torture. There is something about this time that makes it even more formidable, an old estate in the south, and the police not only to protect the Reverend and professor at the local school. Not all good scary American Haunting, An Thriller classic will take place in the woods ... or any piece of land away from the rest of the world? From the unforgettable sounds, moments of suspense, moving blankets, creaking floors, and each time between the lines that are taken from the beginning. I loved Donald Sutherland ... he must receive an award for his performance. I recommend this DivX film American Haunting, An to all those looking for solid entertainment. |
| This will be a brief, because I can quickly summarize what was quite bad about this movie: everything! The actions (shame that Mr. Sutherland and shame on you, Ms. Spacek), the super-confusing, ridiculous plot, the tiresome, amateurish east crapfest of America is a lesson in how to completely ruin. Whoever came up with this crappy story, first needs to donate his salary to all unemployed writers out there that have much better ideas that were never made. The thing is to offend the majority when a caption says: "This movie: American Haunting, An is based on real events." Sure. Reality sucks, but thanks to God is nowhere near as horrible as this movie. |
| First, I did not know the history of this ghost story, so do not expect anything until after, and I must say that I liked, but I can not admit to being scared. No complaints about the performance. The division really get into it and it was a real pleasure to see Sissy Spacek doing their things as Mama Bell. I thought the story and remained strong despite further comments by saying that it was confusing, I do not think so at all. I also found that the new ending was a reasonable assumption to make - and adolescents Poltergeist phenomenon is well documented. The only complaint I had was the turning around of the camera in most of the scenes of ghosts. It made me quite dizzy. But an inexperienced director and all that. Not a patch on the likes of Sixth Sense, but definitely worth seeing. |

Hurd-Wood and Spacek are at their best and Donald Sutherland gives a great performance as always. Only after they saw him, you realize how barata''An American Haunting''en actually is. You do not see a lot of places do not have to strawberry. Special praise goes to the director, who really has the audience in its grip. The best thing is the unexpected ending, but here in Germany was killed by the final release in the title.
