| Ben Carson took a job as a watchman in a building that used to be severely damaged a department store. As he begins to see strange and horrible things in the mirrors, which desperately tries to develop what is happening before he and his family ..... Mirrors is a remake of a Korean film, called in the mirror. I have not seen it. But this movie is not bad. Directed by Alexandre Aja, who also co-wrote the film, has some truly chilling moments. However, it does suffer from a flaw in some of the sequences warning did not work so well as it should, mainly due to an error that occurs in a lot of horror movies - the music. Some of the best scares have little or no music to create the atmosphere in advance, but sometimes, the music provides a scare, which ultimately does not work as well as it should, mainly because it allows the public to know is a scare coming. The film also suffers in which there are several plot holes that leave many questions unanswered. In addition, I am not sure that completely ends the play. Toward the end, it becomes more of an action than a horror movie, it's a little disappointing as this reduces the impact of the story. The cast led by Kiefer Sutherland are not bad, managing to convey his horror at the events play out. And as I said, the director makes the management of some frightening stage. As a horror that is not bad, but not a great one. |
| Another one of the top American horror movie based on a horror movie in Asia. Kiefer is good, but other players are pretty bad and the dialog is rather poor. Only the first third of "Mirrors" is any good. This is down after that, as Kiefer tries to unravel the mystery of mirrors. Instead of a real creepiness, things jump out at any moment. And then there is over-the-top end which is unnecessary and horrible. I like the idea of places like abandoned in the making horror movies. I saw the horror film "Session 9" and after that is a little better. The director knew what the director of "Mirror" did not know. Adjustment is of vital importance in horror movies. "Mirrors" used the abandoned warehouse at its first third and then abandoned to make it more frightening. The movie should have taken advantage of this option and are used more. The film makes it back to the store left at the end of the film, but by then all mystery and suspense is gone from the site. |
| Decent, nothing special. Pros: an end to fresh, cool plot, decent acting. CONS: MEH. What should be included. 1) The main character (Ben, played by Sutherland) refused to receive a day's work, so the night is a place of work. Reason? Not indicated. So that night was the most important job in the world, but we have no idea why. Good step. 2) The mirrors go crazy on him the first day of work. I expected something more subtle, as opposed to "1408" mess. Indications smaller over a longer period would have been more effective. Especially when it comes to the wife. Instead of seeing the girl in the mirror and immediately crying / panicking, you should have blink a few times, and the mirror would be nice, and slowly gets worse over time. 3) if the mirrors will kill you, is going to paint on them and then let them stay there? I certainly hope not. I want to bury and break them all. 4) I'm not a fan of the nun / exorcist base. I was really hoping the mirrors were feeding people's fears to face, and the day was providing guard of fresh meat. Sadness. 5) When Ben discovered that could destroy the mirrors outside the department store, waiting for all the mirrors and destroy them. But Nooo. Silly goose. Oh well. Apart from that, it was decent. The graphics are OK, and the opening, in particular, it was fun. The bathtub scene was unexpected and made me Twingo. |
