| This is one of the few (for me) that I can see the movies several times each year. I still believe it is better Kevin Costners work, either in front or behind the camera. I think it's Annette Benings best supporting role in his career, and only she, in turn, "American Beauty" was such a good leader, support, or otherwise. Robert Duvall is terrific, completely nominate, but always is'nt?. He is, for me, a treasure. Apparently always considered strictly a supporting player, a player is better than a lot of "Best Actor" winners who come to mind. Oops, that sounded part. The writing is beautiful, adopting a "less is more" character who is absolutely necessary for the people of this time and circumstance. Honesty, loyalty, bravery, courage and most importantly of all, love, are all woven into this beautiful film. I've been a fan of the Open Range Western film all my life, was given this gift from my father, who owned a business in LA, not far from Culver City. I've seen a lot of movies. I was thinking about how many films actually do several times a year. The number is around 10. This is one of them. It is a beautiful piece of work (not to mention the movies? Beautiful!) In all senses, and that's one thing that makes any Open Range Western movie that I will call "good" should do ... is me.I moves is love. SE HEWS 3-16-08 |
| Open Range is by far Kevin Costner's Best Western Open Range Western to date. Much better than the epic Dances With Wolves, although it does have moments too. Robert Duvall and Costner create a great duo West can not be matched. In this story of the old wild west, two men on a trip with some friends believe that not all people are good. While one unit of livestock, men and leave the rest of the night, outside this small town. During the night, a man disappears. But what has happened? Does anyone know? A few nights a go, and the man is found dead. The other two (Duvall and Costner) are given a place to stay for a woman in the city (Bening). From there, the story goes deeper, to find out the truth, and bury the lies .... forever! |
| Kevin Costner is the silent anti-hero in Open Range (2003) which also directed.In this DivX film Open Range Robert Duvall is a free-range cattle Bluebonnet "chief" of Spearman and Costner is his partner Charley Postelwaite.Abraham Benrubi as Mose and Diego Luna such as Button hands.These recruits are men who do not have a bathroom too often or use proper English.The people in a nearby city do not care too much for the free rangers.They Mose kill and injure button quite badly. This means war.There 's also a romantic plot in this DVD film Open Range begins when Charley have feelings for the doctor's sister Sue Barlow (Annette Bening). Open Range is based on the novel The Open Range Men by Lauran Paine.It 's a good modern Western about injustice.Kevin Costner and Robert Duvall do a real good leader team.Annette Bening proves that you can still turn heads.Michael Gambon makes a big thief as Denton Baxter.Michael Jeter gives one of his last performances as Percy.This Open Range Western film epic has many fine scenes.The clash in the finals is really impressive.In this fly.I shooting real bullets was happy to note to the west of the 21st century is not too different from the previous century.Only tough guys now who can have softer features. |
| I have been in a cave when this DivX film Open Range came out. In fact, I was; Kuwait City, Kuwait, just after the second war in Iraq. The Open Range Western movie had great players (Duvall, Kostner, Bening and older), a tight plot, outstanding photography and magnificent history. Westerns have recently emerged from favor. Most condemned to be special on television. Too bad. Ten years ago, this could have been a highly promoted film. There were areas in the DivX film Open Range that kind of drag (when going to kick some ass, anyway) but it is said, is a great movie. I have not seen too many movies that caught my attention, as well as the present. When I saw this on AMC, I was ready to go out on my patio and smoke my pipe and my drink whiskey, but since the beginning of the DVD film Open Range to the end, I could not get out! Believe me, my pipe and Scotch are part of my daily routine, but he played a secondary (I remember the sheriff on this Open Range Western film was playing his violin just before it was put in his cell in prison).
