It is rare that complain about these things, Hotel Rwanda, but was not violent enough to get the point in the plenary. Someone like Spielberg with his gift for the ultra-realistic violence could have done a better job. When you feel you are watching something real that you hit on a deeper level. There is much more than the bloodshed free. The bewildering chaos of Africa was much more displayed in "Blackhawk Down". This was the case that Gore's film filtered stole the outrage that one feels. There were only a few serious cringe inducing scenes and I hoped that the entire movie to stay at that level. There was unrest throughout defined, but it was not quite nervous enough. I think some rave reviews describe what the movement could have been, and the importance of its subject, not what it really was. I disagree with those who say that the reason the conflict is not explained well enough. It was just a kind of revenge gang and us versus them, like so many other wars. |
This is a tremendous film. The performances are spectacular, in particular, Don Cheadle. He deserves an Oscar for his portrayal of hotel manager. The film itself is far more important than the fair value of entertainment. Most people are not familiar with the horrific events in Rwanda in the 1990s, but they should be. We tend to think that genocide is a thing of the past that just did not happen today in the "civil" modern world. The real story behind this movie shows just the opposite. With all the focus on the Holocaust in World War II and all talk of "never let it happen again," the world as a whole, not the people of Rwanda miserably a few years ago. Everybody should see this movie, and learn a thing or two. |
A modern Schildler's List, a spectacular film of human rights with an excellent cast. You are doing you a favor by going to this movie, and seeing how much a man gave up to save lives, while the oppression of vile forces were almost inhuman. Oscar truly worthy performances by Don Cheadle, Sophie Okonedo, Nick Nolte and probably several more nominations in other areas besides just acting. Based on the true story of the genocide in Rwanda in 1994, has its strong, almost hard-to-violence in the stomach only idea, there is plenty in the way of Gore on the screen, just the idea of it . With particular attention to the generosity and international apathy towards these real-life events, what really does get to the most valuable film to forget. |
"Never have so many owed so much to so few" - Winston Churchill. I think this quote best describes the atmosphere highlighted in this superb film. What did Paul Rusesebagina to help the homeless shelter for families Tutsis in his hotel was proof that each of us can make a change for the better. The story is simply astonishing and shocking, at the same time - the feeling of sorrow and compassion was amplified by the fact that this movie is based on a true story. Don Cheadle gives an excellent performance. His acting is impeccable - it manages to achieve truly the spectator in the harsh environment Rwandian the events of 1994. He skillfully points out the punishment they face Rusesebagina Paul! Sophie Okonedo also plays very well in this movie, masterfully the role of the determined and loving mother willing to do anything to save their children. Nick Nolte is excellent in the performance of remorse haunted Colonel Oliver of the UN forces and Joaquin Phoenix does a great job on the role of Jack Daglish, the cameraman responsible for putting images of the slaughter. What surprises me in this film is the remarkable similarity between Oskar Schindler and Paul Rusesebagina, two men who risked their lives to save others and who, against all odds, this.Through succeeded in achieving their actions, which saved the entire world, saved from forgetting the fact that we are all human beings and the right to live on this planet! However, this film is excellent and deserves a great spot in the Top 250! 9 / 10 |
