| Chico saw bullet in a preview screening by Verve Pictures, had given me the tickets and did not know what to expect. The only thing I knew was that the main part was played by a crew member Therefore, solid, Asher D (Ashley Walters), and so it was perhaps a bit skeptical about his ability to act. Ultimately, however, this film is brilliant: surprising, tender, wonderfully acted and beautifully directed. The dialogue is authentic and convincing the camera work evokes a documentary. Ashley Walters, emphasizes its physical presence in the film the weight given for his subtle performance; Lucas Fraser shines as his younger brother Curtis. Common sense you will all end in a horrible way, is the feeling at the end that there is also some hope for the future in the form of the young boy who tries to escape from the endless cycle of gun crime. I left this movie with a sense of the enormous disparity between the different experiences of the people of London, there is no vision of Richard Curtis here. It is an urgent and heart-breaking call attention to the realities of gun crime in the UK. Go to see this. |
