| Previous responses, good and bad, which covers the essence of the film quite well. That said, all I can say is that, somehow, although this film uses every contrived and hackneyed action / plot technique in the history of film, which comes across as fun and fast, unlike say, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, which was almost the same movie, but for some reason was very slow and boring. Add in striking scenery, decent, but not a great use of foreshadowing, attractive actors and actresses, and has a nice way to spend 2 hours on a rainy Sunday. I do not agree that this is a good hire. The viewer will lose the benefit of the impressive special effects, unless of course have a 50 "surround sound home entertainment extravaganza. No, even then, to see the films, but definitely see. We only hope to be entertained, nothing more, nothing less. |
| I know that Van Helsing has a lot of bad reviews, but I really enjoyed it. It was two and a half hours long, but not fancy. They managed to combine different stories of horror and yet do the work. It's sort of like an Abbott and Costello movie, but still pulled away. The graphics are very nice too, but the thing I liked most was that the wolf actually appeared wolves! They were not like the giant gorilla who are in most horror movies, the wolves were giants. I would not say it was an incredible movie, but it's definitely a fun movie and well worth the 8 dollars to get in. |
| Last week I saw 'Van Helsing' and to tell you the truth, I really think that the criticisms are very bad with your comments about this movie. Many of them think that this is just a movie to have a good time and nothing more, but I think there are some things that should be considered. First, the combination of the three monsters, Dracula (Dracula the sexiest I have ever seen, much better and more attractive than others), Frankenstein and the Warewolfman is original and has never seen in movies such a mixture of three different stories. On the other hand, the story itself is original, not only interesting but also because it catches the attention of the audience and from start to finish around the world is waiting for what will happen. But the best thing is the performance of Australian actors Richard Roxburgh (a vampire incredibly fascinating) and Hugh Jackman (a very funny and interesting hero. Both are perfect as enemies whose interest is to destroy each other, although I personally would have preferred to have won Dracula the battle, ha, ha, ha. Is it a coincidence that both characters sexy as Van Helsing and Dracula is played by Australia perfomers? This confirms that men of this nation are very handsome. |
