| This film came out, Eddie Murphy was the star continues to rise and this was almost the pinnacle of his career. This film is a fun, fast, full of fun promenade Murphy action and the film really a pleasant experience. Thank God that Sylvester Stallone backed out because I think the film would have been a very dark thriller. At least Axel Murphy made a smart aleck who have helped to lighten the mood of the film. In addition, the performance of an understated that has been Judge Reinhold. Reinhold makes an art of playing a little out of that goofy characters and his portrayal of Detective Billy Rose was a perfect example of this, and John Ashton was the perfect foil as Taggart. | Martin Brest has only made five feature films (Go in style, BHC, Midnight run, Scent of a Woman, and Meet Joe Black), the films strikingly different from each other, but we all share certain traits. They are finely detailed, energetic, and extraordinarily human. The warmth and friendship shine through, even through the gun and fist-play that are mandatory in a cops and robbers movie. This is one of the first prototypes and best friend of the film. Brest's casting is excellent, and he raises performances that are often even the best of the young players career. Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, and Ronnie Cox are outstanding, and all clicks like a well-oiled infield. For me, this movie is still by far the best performance Eddie Murphy. He is very talented, a comic genius. As an actor, his expressions are sometimes quirky, but always completely in character, and proceed to the dramatic situation. Victor Maitland villain (played by Steven Berkoff, the husband of Alberta Watson, Madeline La Femme Nikita) is chillingly understated, the cold-blooded evil shine through façade civilized. BHC is one of the few films that I see with my loved ones again and again and never tire. Even as a comedy, has a solidity and integrity that make it extremely durable. I look forward to the next Martin Brest film. Meanwhile, I have always Beverly Hills Cop. |

Not long after Mikey arrives in Detroit, Mikey is killed, right in front of Axel, by a man named Zack. Axel follows Zack to Beverly Hills, California, where Beverly Hills police department Lieutenant Andrew Bogomil assigns Detective Billy Rosewood and Rosewood's partner, Sergeant John Taggart, to keep an eye on Axel. Axel visits his friend Jenny Summers, who works in an art gallery. With Jenny's help, Axel discovers that Zack works for Jenny's boss, Victor Maitland, the man who owns the art gallery. Maitland is a drug kingpin who is using the gallery as a front, and Maitland had Zack kill Mikey after Maitland accused Mikey of stealing some of Maitland's bonds. With the help of Jenny, Billy, and Taggart, Axel does what he can to make sure Maitland and Zack won't kill any more people.
