| Wonderful romantic comedy with two of our brightest stars comedian. Newton Davis (Steve Martin) is a bored, jilted architect who has little or no enthusiasm for life left in it. Gwen (Goldie Hawn) is a beautiful waitress with a sharp, ambiguous past, that manages to capture the margins of the imagination of Davis by flaunting their different and various eccentricities and hinting just the smallest bit, the real person underneath Face it has assumed. Through a series of strange, fantastic, Gwen desperate decisions and Newton are in a very precarious situation. It is not long before Gwen becomes the cynosure of the very life of Newton, and before he knows it, tasting it and the worm wriggling stranded in the hook is Gwen. I love this movie and watch it often. It is enlightening and creative. It has been called "campy" by some, but I do not believe that in the camp. | It was just unbelievable how this type of plot has been invented yet. I was absolutely astonished, because of all the laps of the main partner in the film made - and for those who fancy Goldie Hawn, this is a movie that has to do! Just incredible! |
| Absolutely hilarious comedy cute with Goldie playing superbly with a bs artist of the road in the lives of a group of complete strangers, to disrupt the existence of many and the enrichment of others. One of Martin and Goldie better. |
| I wish I could erase from my memory so that you can see it all over again for the first time. I thought that the film is bright and very funny. Goldie is adorable. Steve is adorable. If only there was a sequel to this wonderful comedy. |

Three months later a one night liaison with livewire waitress Gwen gets rather out of control when she tracks down the dream house, moves in, and lets it be known locally that she and Newton are married.
