"Seven-six to two millimeters. Metal Jacket." -Pvt. Leonard "Pyle" Lawrence Full Metal Jacket is a great movie. Not the best of Kubrick, but works as a great war movie. The plot is about a group of soldiers who become murderers in marine training, and then are sent to the Vietnam War. Kubrick once again does a great job in the right direction. Modine, D'Onofrio, Baldwin, Howard and give decent performances, while Ermey gives an Oscar worthy (not even nominated) performance and steals the show. This is a very realistic in Vietnam, while the scenes of battle and writing not only satisfies as in the second half. However, it is a wonderful film. 9 / 10. |
A gritty, intense, does not have prescribed the war movie that grabs the attention from the outset and has all the way through. The only injury of this movie is the fact that the first half (Boot Camp) is much more powerful than the second half (Vietnam). The film is basically about how the war sucks the life of humans and turns them into 'killing machines. "The highest yield in this movie are, of course, R. Lee Ermey, the brutal drill instructor, and Vincent D 'Onofrio, his slow ready scapegoat. The viewer laughs and alternately cringes at the relentless abuse and degradation inflicted by the former on the latter. And in the famous line, "What is your greatest malfunction?" The tension reaches an almost unbearable limit and the viewer stops moving or breathing. This film, like many of Kubrick, is too graphic for many people, but I recommend it to those who can endure its assault in both directions and consciences. |
Download Full Metal Jacket Movie HereFull Metal Jacket begins by following the trials and tribulations of a platoon of fresh Marine Corps recruits focusing on the relationship between Gunnery Sergeant Hartman and Privates Pyle and Joker. We see Pyle grow into an instrument of death as Hartman has forseen of all of his recruits. Through Pyle's torment and Joker's unwillingness to stand up against it the climax of part one is achieved with all three main characters deciding their fates by their action or inaction. The second chapter of Full Metal Jacket delves into Joker's psyche and the repeated referal to the fact that he joined the Corps to become a killer. When his mostly behind the scenes job as a combat correspondant is interfered with by the Tet offensive he is thrust into real combat and ultimately must choose if he really is a killer.
