| Whacky, Whack out the fantasy of still somewhat disappointing the only American member of Monty Python, Terry Gilliam. A young British boy falls in with some thieves, the travel time dwarves who are being persecuted by the evil genius (David Warner) and the Supreme Being / God (the late Ralph Richardson). In the course of their adventures they meet Napoleon (Ian "Bilbo Baggins" Holm), Robin Hood (John Cleese, who would have been a perfect Little John) and King of the Greeks Agamemnon (Sean Connery), among others. Sound like fun? That is, sort of. Sometimes the DivX film Time Bandits is very funny and even exciting, but at other times just his long, cumbersome and somewhat boring. There are some inspired bits and is visually arresting, but it is never as fun or as exciting as it should be. However, Ralph Richardson is funny as the Supreme Being. |

| This DivX Movie Time Bandits is the funniest DVD movie Time Bandits I've seen. When I was in cable, we note that about 20 times and he spent two tapes of it. There are many levels of enjoyment. The sets are large, the effects are wonderful, the story is crazy, the combination of veteran players and new faces is perfection. Dialogue is a mutiny and are excerpts from the DVD movie Time Bandits everywhere, that you can not miss me death! I love all the actors who play the dwarfs, especially David Rappaport Randall played well loved his TV show "The Magician" who was treated so badly. Often we find ourselves saying: "Remember when you said bad, and Og, when he said that?" Or wonder what laughly condition of Thought boyfriend, Vincent, was needed by the fruit? Napoleon is the scene just enough to make you break a rib laughing. I guarantee that if you have a funnybone everyone loves this movie! Run, do not walk to the nearest video rental store! |
| The dwarf best Time Bandits Comedy film I've ever seen. Why? Many reasons, because it includes all the best elements of the farm dwarf (Ian Holm Napoleon is priceless), but also invests little each person with a personality. The history of Monty Python is a dream, one of the best films of Gilliam .... and sadistic fun. I saw him as a child and loved it. What can I say? I really wish it could be more films like this. When I saw as a child, must have been 5 or 6 years old. I remember Olivia Newton John's "Let's Get Physical" to be on the soundtrack, but when I tell anyone that they look at me like I'm crazy. Does anyone know if this was never distributed in such a way (I know it is not impossible, because often the songs are pop tastelessly added to the films in the United States after production if the Time Bandits Comedy is not doing so well at the box office) ? | A bit of fantasy that tremendous, not surprisingly, has flavors of Monty Python. My children and I saw for the first time in the early 80s overnight ferry from Harwich to Zeebrugge. I've seen a couple of times since then, and marvel at the creativity that went into the film. God's "employees" trying to use a map of the universe to find a treasure is the theme, running through time trying to find the treasure is the game. The cameos by Cleese, Connery and the rest are highlights some fun, but time really does Bandoleros history. The climatic scenes with the evil genius made me think a little more than the sorcerer's apprentice. I think it is well short of fantasy for older children and adults, it helps to know a little bit of history going into it. I will not let my six-year-old granddaughter to see - at least not yet - but she and her sister, probably the love of adventure in a few years. |
