| This film is simply great - in which, at any time, I felt like I had to figure things. I recently read a review of how to criticize this movie infant appeared to them. An exact quote from this review is going - "An interesting premise, with a plot twist that feels very predictable, but ends in a surprising way, its still not enough for me to recommend to anyone, as the film leaves nothing to you - No bright feelings, no revelations, not even a happy after seeing a horror, thriller or romantic comedy. " What is that suppose to mean? Just because this movie does not leave you with a feeling similar to any other "mega-Hollywood romantic dollars (comedy)" out there that you're saying that not even worth it to recommend someone? I say outrageous - outrageous. In any case, I loved this movie simply because it is simple. Sex and death leads to a pleasant walk among the new faces and even throws in some laugh out loud moments. The premise of this entire movie takes place outside the hearing not to take anything too seriously, but still keeps you in a real environment, whereas the story. Definitely recommend this movie to anyone looking to sit back, relax and have a good laugh. I want to mention this is not a film for the family in any sense of the term; fair amount of nudity and language. They have a great night! |
| A simple, light comedy that takes a biased view of the war between the sexes - probably more topical in the 1970s to today. There are some absurd plot holes - the "machine" prophetic that sends e-mail messages, the three characters who work for the machine (Alpha, Beta, and Fred), which took months to find a serial murderer - Yes, plot holes SF / mystical end of things - but that was not really the film's focus. Mayhaps the writer / director would have done better than Whoopi Goldberg reprise his role as Guinan, and left the source of the email address as a mystery that we are not just going to watch very closely. The fight against male bias in the examination of the war between the sexes is a bit old - we have all seen enough of the "rutting men are jerks, women are the innocent victims" routine. There are some bits that are not fun - anything more or less says that Fred, for example, and the conference they receive from the bodyguard of the stripper at the bachelor party. There are some good bits, though - and some convincing (if unilateral) looks at the differences between male and female mating expectations. There is some nudity free - but I do not see that as a disadvantage, and that does not fit with the theme of the film. Not by any means, a great movie - but I do not agree with the reviewers who claim that they were miscast, or that a failure to act. Not a keeper, but there are far worse comedies for you to take home from the store's rent. |
