The excellent novel became a screenplay by Vladimir Nabokov himself is one of the best films of Kubrick did. Due to censorship some things are allowed, the better for what I say. Sue Lyon What leaves nothing to be desired, his confidence and the rebellion is convincing. James Mason as Humbert Humbert is perfect, their method of calculation, conceal their intentions and how it seeks to control What struggles of the life of his best sympathy with which his soul to get lonely. Peter Sellers and provides the comic element, as well as on hold. Humbert When confronted at the hotel was almost as tense as when faced Rugosjin Raskolnikov in "Crime and Punishment." Kubrick shows his mastery of the storytelling here. We do not need background on Humbert, as we see their intentions in their actions. And what a way to start the movie!
I was a senior in high school in 1962 when Kubrick "Lolita" was in theaters. I do not see it then. Now, after living for a further period of 4 decades, I can appreciate that more anyway. The genie in the direction of Kubrick is to let us, the audience clearly see what is happening, while the players can not. Sue Lyon played the shy Lolita so well, but when you read his biography and see that there was a series of short, no marriages after this film was made, you have to wonder if his performance was so good because she was playing a character not far from it. But the real star is Peter Sellers, playing Clare Quilty. In general a film that represents how irrational and blind obsession of the cloud may think otherwise reasonable and educated people. Here is a man, but they certainly have not cornered the blame. After seeing this film, I read the book by Nabakov. It is much more revealing (no surprise) as to how Humbert did develop a justification in your mind that is was OK for a man to 30 years for having sex with a girl in the 10 to 14 years of age , Range, I finally have a when he was 12. It is, of course, is much more explicit in describing his passion and activities. Now I too am a bit surprised that the book was made into a movie.
A significant part of Stanley Kubrick's genius was his ability to translate a literary style into a visual one. It has been demonstrated nowhere more brilliant than in Lolita and A Clockwork Orange. Lolita is perhaps the most impressive achievement, in which Nabokov's style is complex and multi-layered. However, Kubrick captures the effect that in camera angles and movements, at the time and point of view. The broader layer of Nabokov's novel, the parable of the aging of European culture, trying to revivify itself by the seductive young debauching the culture of America, is really missing in the film. But everything else is there, despite the fact that the movie departs from the exact events of the novel. It does not mean that the film depends on the novel. Is in itself quite easily. However, brilliantly succeeds in conveying ideas and feelings that are the core of the novel, and does so in terms completely film. If the film is based on the works of literature, this is the way to do it, and how they almost never done.
An excellent film Kubrik that has sealed the names of all about him. We see how the Director is able able to translate and adapt the book to reach a wider audience and become a timeless classic. Instead of worrying about what it really reflects the book on the silver screen, Kubrik changes and experiments with the script for a refreshing, intellectual and funny version of the tiresome Nabokov's novel. The Master of Management also shows great skill in his precise direction of the star and was selected vendors cast.Who challenge is precisely the hyperactive, witty character who could, without doubt, a seductive young teenager. Could there be a better fit to Lolita's mother Shelley Winters, how well it conveys the impression of being desperate, lonely widow? Even James Mason is the perfect place sexually repressed, intellectually perverted, which tries to hide its persistence as well, hypocritical thoughts and desires behind that mask of academic repute. In conclusion, this is not a substitute for the book. It is also true that to bring the book to life boring a multi-part mini-series would be necessary. This is, however, a better script than the one we saw in the 1997 version.
No two words that came to mind when you first read the book. This film manages quite well the subject is taboo and wildly entertaining, too. Peter Sellers was warming to his triumph in Dr. Strangelove, Shelly Winters, gave his best performance, James Mason and made us feel their pain. As Lolita, Sue Lyon is convincing, though Kubrick makes his character a little more (probably to satisfy the censors, who remains slapped with an X rating originally, to my surprise). The film could play on TV today without changes. I have not seen remake of 1997, but can only imagine, given its director with a reputation for going over the top, which is not as elegant and tasteful as this. Since this was done in 1962, the Risque elements of the book is left to our imagination. And the movie, because it scores well. The film of the story is stuck in the'60s (who bubblegum music, he has played during the first scenes Lolita, stay with you), and if you are bored with the story, or you can not believe what we are seeing, you can always get a culture lesson: Hula hoops, malt shops, pseudo intellectuals, cots and faulty gas stations, where they still pump their gas.

Download Lolita Movie HereHumbert Humbert, a British professor coming to the US to teach, rents a room in Charlotte Haze's house, but only after he sees her 14-year-old daughter, Dolores (Lolita), to whom he is immediately attracted. Though he hates the mother, he marries her as this is the only way to be close to the girl, who will prove to be too mature for her age. They start a journey together, trying to hide they're not just (step)father and daughter, throughout the country, being followed by someone whom Humbert first suspects to be from the police. The profound jealousy, and maybe some guilt from the forbidden love, seem slowly to drive the man emotionally labile.
