Now we're going to fool us now, we're not talking Citizen Kane here. But if you're looking for a thriller Saturday night that will keep you on the edge of his seat and his girlfriend clung to his arm, look no further. Now, there's nothing really new about this thriller, except that it does very well. It is extremely tense, and there is no "I can not believe the hero could be so stupid" moments that are so common to films like these. Others that the climax, which seems a bit over the top, the film is also incredibly credible, and it adds realism to terror. It is also the tightest among the films that you see. Writer / director Jonathan Mostow could give a clinic on the effectiveness of cinema. It does not seem a table lost, and the action moves along at such a speed that barely have time between moments of tension to spit a nail before you have to start on another. The performances are solid. Kurt Russell is wrapped in her man torn between the fear of losing his wife and the murderous rage he feels toward his captors. But the show is stolen by the great character actor JT Walsh as the kidnapper creepily cold. The only complaint here is that Kathleen Quinlan is given very little to do but scream and be helpless. This is not a film that will make Top 10 lists, but that does not mean that it is not a hell of a ride!
This is great! The action and intensity never stop for a second. Kurt Russell gives a riveting performance as the hero in search of the missing by his wife, and JT Walsh is a good bad guy. You kept on the edge of your seat all the time and do not want to shut it down, even in the final. It's that good. I promise. If you like the intensity and good movies, rent this. You will not regret it. From *** ****
Real exciting thriller, Russell, but tends to be a little silly to start then starts to get angry, the story is good, but some of the scenarios are a bit cheated and they tend to keep things as saying "How is it has managed to escape and prosecute them so easily? "" Why she did that? " etc. The landscape is real good, fans of the films of road is too pleased with the landscapes of New Mexico and long quiet roads. It is worth seeing! Come right in the Redneck territory here, too. I'd like to criticize some of the acting, however, the delivery of some of the lines tends to be a bit of wood in places (not so much of Russell), but I guess not all-star cast could not wait Oscars .
For some reason, I have always had a soft spot for what I like to call Badland 'Movies' road - which is often the films in the desolate roads in the Dakotas, where a character has to mine Without Everyman spirit of the resources and ingenuity to outwork the machinations of fate - and a lot of ways, I think we've become the new noir archetype of our modern world: Isolated, without our toys and springs (the police are useless and incompetent) others become ubiquitous tyrannically - we are forced to participate with them in the eyes-and only in the relative can reclaim what is ours. It is the ultimate terror for those who fear neighbor, gun-toting, socially retarded American male in this techno-centric Millennium, this portentous saga of a transitional Boston (Kurt Russell), who has to outwit primitive villagers to rescue his wife who hijacked an ideal example. (* Spoilers follow *) Although there is nothing formal or thematically on display here to distinguish it from superior pictures like The Hitcher or Red Rock West, has a breakdown white-knuckle third act that completes the metamorphosis of Russell vaguely supercilious yuppie to avenge civilian, and a heart-stopping JT Walsh duel with the truck driver that is pretty incredible. Uncharacteristically, the hitherto-objectified wife (Kathleen Quinlan) helps out, making it a more favorable feminist thriller that much of the ragtag assemblage of Hollywood Summer Blockbusters.
Breakdown is an intense journey. If you like the action thriller with a realistic plot, then this is your movie. Kurt Russell is excellent as a man who the woman is kidnapped by some drivers of trucks and held for ransom. Upon seeing a story as it develops, you have to ask, "What should I do in this situation?" The character of Russell looks like a pretty normal rate and that takes you through a scenario in which an ordinary man can do when faced with a dilemma. Russell makes mistakes, but that is unrealistic, given the situation that is his love for his wife drives him on his back and that looks like a guy who can figure out how to do it. JT Walsh also is amazing in this film. He is a very realistic as bad as his henchman, played by Gainey and Noseworthy. If you have not seen this movie, it's worth a look. Rating 9 of 10 stars.
