| People should not intellectualise over this movie. It's very funny, actually is more fun if you are a Christian, like me, because this is Brian, not Jesus. It is a satire about AD 30 and Jewish society in many ways its good to see the satire that shows that people of any time are capable of being silly. The joke is on us, we are all desperate for salvation yet still we are all fools. The film is not blasphemous, simply demonstrates that any story that is put on a pedestal and taboo was ripe for comedy profits. Religion must be able to take a joke, but then the sky will be a boring place. |
| While the quest for the Holy Grail was funny, because it was so low and silly budgetty, Life of Brian is more advanced and more variation of mood. It also has a larger budget, which is great to see. Every scene seems realistic, and the sets (someone said they were previously used by "The Last Temptation of Christ?) Are great. Almost every line in this movie is a classic, and all of them very quotable. The characters are hilarious, and out of this world zany.The plot is good, and contrary to the Holy Grail, which actually comes to a satisfying conclusion. The movie also dares to joke about religion. No, do not joke about Jesus or God, but of those who believe in them. The line "I say we are the Messiah, and I should know. I followed a few" Spot-On is as it hurts (when I laugh). Overall, this watch. This is possibly the funniest movie ever created. You can not afford to lose. |
| The most hilarious movie I have ever seen. It's fun then some of the comedies is today and age. I laughed throughout the movie, especially the line "He is not the Masiah which is a very naughty boy." All the characters are fun in their own different way. As I say in the title this is the best Python for the moment, even during the holy grail, and that I was in stitches. The best scene is when Brian is out of his window and saw this huge crowd waiting for him because I think it is the Masiah although it continues to say that it is not. If there is a DVD boxset with the title of best British films this is definitely in the series hands down. |
| Absolutely one of the best comedies of all time. The Python cast puts everything out there for you to enjoy. Sarcasm, criticism, fanaticism, homosexuality, religion, religious sects, in the afternoon matches gladiators, people who lisp, wise men, crucifixion, and full frontal male nudity. Nothing is sacred. Not to mention this movie contains one of history's most important lessons America! An added more history is the second account before (outside of Ezekiel) of a UFO sighting. Cheer up! Give a whistle! See this movie! |
| This movie is by far the best outings of the Python. It is classified as one of my favorite movies of all time, that unlike "The Holy Grail," but no date has improved over time to see repeated. The Pythons are entailed by Christianity, which caused outrage when it was first (mostly by people who had not seen), is in fact take one of cults, both religious and political, and people who follow them. Brian, our hapless hero, is confused, horny, and constantly mistaken for the Messiah, who just happened to be born in the manger next to him. Brian just wants to be left alone and pursue his love for Judith, a member of the Popular Front of Judea. Judith Roman just wants to go home, but only after they have left the sanitation, medicine, education, irrigation, roads, public order, etc, etc ... oh, and do not forget the wine! Brian is the love of Judith to go unilateral? Only the cheese makers of being blessed, or whether this refers to all manufacturers of dairy products? And what the Romans have done for us? It is subtle, it is anarchic, and is possibly still banned in Norway. This is classic comedy seamless at its best. 10-10. |

Brian was born on the same day and almost the same time, as Jesus Christ, for Not to mention that both live in the same country and city, but Brian is an ordinary, until he becomes a member of the personas''''contra Judea (or something) and many situations is beginning to happen. With the same actors who worked on the other Pythons Monthy, this is one of the commentary that someone can see! |
| I had not seen this movie in quite some time, however, never ceases to amaze me! I recently rented because my twin brother had dental surgery (I took him home and spent the night at his home in case she needed something). I thought that this film will help to cheer him up. We both agree that it is one of our favorites. Much has been written about whether or not this film makes fun of Jesus. I do not think that you do, and I am one of those who say that what really makes fun of religious fanaticism. Too much has been written about how this movie was criticized by those who had never seen and therefore can not, as Brian says, this figure for themselves. A very telling scene is when Brian refers to the crowd and tells them they are all different. They reply in unison, "Yes, we are all different ... tell us more!" But my favorite scene is still the classic Michael Palin as Pontious Pilate "Biggus Dickus" bit. I can not see this movie and just smile up at this scene. Still cracks me. As I said earlier, I had not seen in some time, however, during that scene that I lost. I laughed so hard that tears were coming out of my eyes. Yes, I know it's youth! But the way we played Palin, speech impediment and all (yes, I know, how un-PC) is what you do. You can see that when he gets in close to the soldier, who is not running out a laugh. The actor playing the soldier and, well, he's not serving the people. He really is cracking up. |
