Although the movie takes the tired "haunted house" theme or plot, acting and a strong script maintain intelligent management for the movie interesting. The film is about a popular author who writes books about haunted hotels. Contrary to what he writes, he is actually a skeptic and think that everything is a scam. Tracking a simplistic message on a postcard, which solves the stay in a particular room in a hotel. He believes that is being conne by the hotel staff when things start to get weird ... but begins to think twice. One of the best aspects of the film is that there is a pretty smart character who is a skeptic. It was well played by John Cusack who is constantly trying to dismiss all the warnings and all the strange things that happen. On the negative side, the movie seems a bit long, because a haunted house plot with only 1 main character can only go so far. As assistant to the film, we've seen everything. The script is smart, but this genre is difficult to climb over a wall. If you like Stephen King supernatural stories or movies, this is definitely worth seeing, for all the others, we believe it is an above average movie choice.
For some time I have been looking for a horror / suspense / Slasher / whatever type of movie that would give me the same kind of spine tingling shudder that Stephen King's IT once gave me when I was 10 years old. Now some 13 years that I have found a movie that made my spine shudders while almost blocked. This could have been because of who was watching in the early morning hours in the dark ... But no! Mikael Halfstrom helps in this, so that each frame suspiciously wondered from the beginning, then slowly ease their tension as it progresses until, like a roller coaster that is reaching peak, all I have left to do is the clutch for dear life until the end. This film is truly an honor to the horror movies of the past and present. Establishes such an overwhelming sense of impending terror in the most subtle of ways. If you truly love horror movies, here is to see a once ... then build the courage to look again. I rented this movie, but it will be definitely on my Christmas list this year and that of another person if I rub the wrong way. lol. I will not describe any part of this movie as you really have to see that I am grateful. Truly awful, truly remarkable.
Horrible film, which contains re-hash ideas before Stephen King-based film and filmmaking that appallingly executed effects'm guessing was meant to coincide with Hitchcock. I have seen the vertigo shot (on the track, zoom out, or vice versa) is about three times in this movie, and each time it seemed absolutely terrible. John Cusack's character set arc was simple enough to chart after opening 5 minutes of the film and its subsequent development is little to none. With the action mainly confined to a room, and an actor, the introduction of the Dictaphone is essential, however, increasingly became tedious. Without it we had a movie in silence, or more likely had only Cusack goes more and more mental, and jabbering to himself more and more as the film progressed. The presence of Samuel L Jackson, although a small presence can help bring a greater audience for the film, and the few scenes with him in this merit, as they are by far the best of the film has to offer. Everything else is standard - shiver of horror, which lacks both tension and ingenuity. If you want interesting, intelligent, a bit of fear and horror, and then avoid! If your looking for something dull to you in the dream, then 1408 might have found a purpose for their existence.
The film attracted me because of 2 reasons - Samuel Jackson and Stephen King. The story is about an author Mike Enslin (John Cusack) who does not believe in ghosts and as part of their quest to see ghosts, your job is to go and stay in hotels haunted so you can write books like "10 nights in a haunted hotel ". Mike selects a famous New York Hotel Delfin; room number 1408 to spend an evening. The reason is, in the hotel that 56 people have died in the past 40 years, and no one has survived for more than 1 hour in the hotel room. Mike Enslin checks into the hotel and experience ghost, but survives to 1 hour. The accumulation of the movie was good. But once John Cusack is inside the room and the Director Mikael Håfström starts using usual trick and tricks to scare the audience, the film falls flat on its face. I personally did not find a single scene in the movie that was scary. There was no suspense in the development of history. Whatever happens is not all that long-awaited exciting experience. John Cusack shows some signs of good acting, but he is not able to rise above the poor script. Samuel Jackson was playing a minor role insignificant Hotel Manager - There is not much to write about any department of the film. If the aim was to scare the audience with the fantasy experience, the manager does not scare at the hearing. I remember that the film is a failure! (2 Stars 10)

Download 1408 Movie HereBased on the short Stephen King horror story of the same name, 1408 surrounds supernatural writer Mike Enslin, an author of two hit books focusing on supernatural phenomena. As research for his latest book, Enslin is determined to check out the notorious room 1408 in a New York City hotel by personally staying as a guest in the fabled room. With the intention that 1408 is just a myth perpetuated by stories and rumor that Enslin has collected for his past works. However, hotel manager Mr. Olin has strong objections to Enslin's stay and only warns him of possible danger to come. But Enslin is determined to go through and convinced that the horrific past of 1408 is just mere coincidence and a myth. But what Mike Enslin is about to experience is no myth, as 1408 truly is a room where the guests don't check out by noon.
