| My five years of age, loves this little movie, and watch again and again if we let him. He has all the music from the ballet The Nutcracker, but the story really has nothing to do with ballet. However, it is a nice little story about helping others and being a friend. You do not have the constant violence that have the old cartoons, but has some (Tom and Jerry would it be without it?) And there are a couple scary parties where the group has to venture into the world to find the Toy Maker. There is very little dialogue and as usual, neither Tom nor Jerry speak in this adventure. Well worth watching for young children and the music is wonderful! |
| This intelligent delivery of the Nutcracker to the live music of my four-year-old granddaughter. We've seen this movie several times during the holidays, in their application. Later, when she heard the music he could recall the action of the cartoon tie-in helped him to enjoy music throughout the season. The story is sweet and appropriate for young children-targeted audience. The characters were rich with interesting personalities. There was quite intelligent and teasing apart to keep adults chuckling. Perhaps most difficult for older viewers to this new version of Tom and Jerry is talking! Whereas the old cartoons were mostly quiet and easy to send around the world, this cartoon has other characters speaking. The Nutcracker music has been performed as a ballet around the world, as a horse-back production in Chicago and now as a Tom and Jerry cartoons for a new generation used to just Einstein and his musical escapades. |
| First I want to express how I am glad we have not invested a single penny in seeing this film, because this is awful in every way. The whole film looks and sounds like it was made by a bunch of useless people who clearly have no humor, and are stripped of any artistic talent, which in the end of history. Now, what is wrong with this picture? Short version; everything. Does not look good, not feeling well, its not Tom and Jerry at all. I curse from Time Warner to never let this crap hit the market, a bad episode of the old Tom and Jerry x100 is better than this sad excuse for a cartoon. If T & J was a cartoon bad for a start, might not bother me, but no! T & J is one of the best cartoons out there, and now its clear that the legacy died many years ago .. Do not buy, do not see it, this is all I can say. |
| This is neither Tom and Jerry, and The Nutcracker. Food is cheap, expressed horribly, and if a little heavy jets religious propaganda. "Of course there is a toymaker! We were done by somebody!" "Follow the Star!" Jerry is stuck at the bottom of a frozen pond and a heavenly light shining on him, giving him the strength to free themselves from the vine binding to the pond floor. Ill. In addition to the terrible animation and voice acting, there is no real history of the caricature at all. It's a bunch of unrelated plot lines sewn together with what might have been the basis of the history of The Nutcracker. The whole debacle is disconnected from itself. It was skipped. |
| I read the post before ... I think he / she never saw an original Tom and Jerry before .... has nothing to do with the original, even the faces are drawn badly ... and where the hell was all the talking and singing badly in the original? this is a mistake. It is the first time for me to comment on something, because this type of remakes are destroying the old memories and make fun of the work of all the talented people who have worked so hard at that time for the magic to happen. I think it's important to say something about that next time someone thinks of "remaking" better do a very good job. It is a shame to today's children prefer the monsters and anime type of thing just because the old school is so poorly represented. |
