| I saw this movie on DVD last night and I thought it was a good movie. I thought we played an excellent Christian Bale type mental and thought it was very funny with your questions at random, such as "Do you like Phil Collins?" Lol! The thing is that I really do not understand the meaning of the final. What did they do? Can you imagine? I am a little confused. But I did enjoy the film. If a fan of Christian Bale should see this movie as you see him going mental absolutley. |
| I loved this movie. It is not a comedy but it's funny in the scenes because of the lethargy and cluelessness of the other characters. Patrick Bateman is a serial murderer, plain and simple, but it is not the purpose of this movie. The main character thinks he can get away with anything because he is rich and privileged. The film was violent, but not as much of the book. However, I think the blood and gore that have been removed from the satire of the movie by turning it into a campy horror movie. The film had a not so clear subtext: The absurdity of the actions of the murderer and the reasons that equality of the rich, corporations, the snob. A world based on business cards, restaurants, and businesses have more depth than that of a self-obsessed, unremourseful, unhuman creature like Patrick Bateman? That is what he calls you at the end of this movie. I give it a 9 / 10! |
| I really do not get this movie, but thats not saying it was not good, it was, so it was until the end, did kill all those people or was it all in his head. At the end shows his secretary looking through her private diary, which seems to be a lot of images of dead women later died, but life was through her book or through his mind. It really does not matter, because what I was seeing was a movie fashion Flasher gone wrong, it was not intelligent, and not in my mind, but it does have shock tactics he used to the full extreme. It's a brilliant idea to make the audience believe something bad was going to happen and then not happen, is much less predictable than other horror movies in that era. Its still worth seeing. |
| Although I think the book is brilliantly written, I kept asking myself when I was reading that if Ellis had a deal with the devil - that dictates to the confessions of the worst serial murderer ever. I do not think that there is a woman in the world who enjoy this book, I also think there are not many men either. To admire, respect for that - but I enjoy it ... Is a brilliant description of the 80 - th - you can hear them, see, almost touch, that practically scream at you from the pages and dark portrait of the 80th golden boy who were on the rampage. Well, there was a woman, Mary Harron, who liked and respected as the AP decided to transform the screen - and it worked. She reducing the gore and sex and focused on satire. I liked the movie when I saw her first time, I love it now after the second window. Surprisingly restrained and fun - which has one of the best scenes I've seen in movies lately - the war of credit cards. The show belongs to Christian Bale - and offered as Patrick Bateman, the rich and beautiful 26-year-old banker on Wall Street with the secrets so dark that makes Dr Lector look like a character from Sesame Street. Bale cold, charismatic, misogynist, in turn, is fascinating. His James Bondi-esque changes to the devilish face mask with reptilian eyes so fast, your blood freeze. |
| I think this movie is excellent. It is as bright as the book. I have read the book before I saw the movie and can be helpful to have read the book before you see, because to end the ambiguity. But I think the end is not all that important. Leave space for your own interpretation. I also think that most people understand that most of the events is your imagination, (you can not run naked through a hallway with a chainsaw ...), the biggest question is: Bateman is the imagination or someone else? Is the name of Patrick Bateman also part of his imagination? But on the other hand, other characters also mention the name Bateman. So probably there. |
| American Psycho has become my favorite movie of all time. The layers of satire and irony are so brilliantly put together Mesmerize mind. I do not list this movie under the section of horror and I think his name in a way that makes a horrible injustice. I was reluctant to do because I thought I was going to be a horror movie cheezy when it was anything but. It's an intelligent comment on corporate America in the 1980s, about the modern Manhattan buoguesie (spelling?). I also believe that Christian Bale captures Americaness pure because he is able to see from an objective point of view. Seeing this movie may make you rethink their values and priorities in life. If you liked movies like Fight Club, Quills, Happiness and Welcome to the doll seems to me that you like is most likely that this movie too. |
