| There are more ROM that is "definitely maybe" Adam Brook, but the film is not the worse for it. It is one of the well-scripted, well-acted, highly professional film that Hollywood rarely makes these days and it is refreshing to see a romantic comedy that does not resort to slapstick and bawdy humor. Ryan Reynolds is effective in the head, and the three (or four if you count his daughter) women in his life are all very well, with Isla Fisher is particularly good (which is rooting for her all the way). There are some truly touching moments here, especially towards the end. I hope to see more of Adam Brooks. |
| I rented this movie for me and my wife the other day and I was reluctant to see him. I thought, shit another Chick Flick ... grrrrr. I'm regretting that I thought. This movie was very well together. Sure is about love and there is no explosion or by rappelling cliffs, while firing semi-automatic rifles, but I liked it anyway. The cast is excellent and the address was over. You can feel the chemistry between the actors. I must warn you that if you are a sensitive person may want a box of tissues nearby. Adam Brooks actually directed and wrote this movie and hats go to him for it. I give it an 8 out of 10. If he had thrown exploded in a car chase or a set of buildings that may have received a 10 (just kidding). |
