Managed to sneak in my view one. Good story .. major conflicts. Ho Pak main character Sunday, playing a cop "official LAING" was incredible in martial arts and lowered its operating performance at the right times to be intimidated by 3 wild characters on a mission to destroy him. I was afraid of my pants by the "X-MAN" .. I think it plays a British actor with a deep look menacing .. Kevin Ula Christie. I hope I do not run on it, although at times it was very funny and almost dishy. This film has the right mix of depth dialogue and action, and it is very different from the phase of the factory in martial arts. This is history, acting strong, big fight scenes, warm crisp cinematography, and dialogue was thinking. The good work that you are!
I saw a screener copy of the movie and I must say that the martial arts in the film is simply out of this world. Do not get me wrong is not like we have not seen this before, only this time there are no wires used. I'm not sure if I believe that if, but nobody knows for sure please write in. I tried to find the cables, but did not find any. We also would like to know how someone can get a hold of the film. One last thing, this kind, Ho-Sung is mad, mad skills. You can see scenes of fighting, not like most films where the camera is all over the place. Next better than Bruce Lee.
I saw an early screener copy of this movie. It has great action and martial arts amazing. HoSung Pak is a great comedy in the role, is the next break in martial arts star bar none. Try to obtain a copy of the DVD or see in theaters soon, but do not miss this one! The film is too large ... by the same guy who did GreenLight project (1 a). HoSung Pak has a great screen presence, which has also seen him on the Jackie Chan movie "The Legend of Drunken Master" and was in the video game Mortal Kombat I & II. The urban environment in this film provide a great backdrop of the dark history and the mystique of the "Book of Swords" legend, the obstacles that HoSung's character has to find a worthy counterpart to its high level of the arts.
Well, in response to previous comments, I am a fan of martial arts and I did not like this movie. The main reason stated in my line summary: when the unsung hero sacrifices opponents by the dozen, as it often is not here, is not exciting - it's boring. There are only two good fight scenes in this movie: the one with the bald man and the last. These are the only place where the villains much of a fight. As for the "no wires or special effects were used in the fight scenes" disclaimer, well, which uses a lot of camera effects that martial arts films is almost the same as the effects special events, such as for the "no cables", it would be much more impressive if the lead (or anyone else) really did something that requires cables in the first place. Do not get me wrong, which obviously has the moves, but does not do anything that I have not seen before types, such as Keith Cooke. The writing is ambitious, but ultimately silly, and the direction is often clueless as to how to shoot a scene of struggle. The actress who plays the hero's love interest packs a mean punch right - I'd like to see it again. (* 1 / 2)
It is a well-written, well acted, dramatic film. BOOK swords star, Ho-Sung Pak, is one of the world's top Wushu practitioners in his charisma and the screen, action sequences and excellent overall performance is your breath away. As we have seen the movie, there is little doubt that we witnessed the emergence of a superstar. Ho-Sung is capable of running 4 to 5 feet in the air and 720 degree kicks, turns, butterfly, where his body spins and a half, while the rotations are perfectly parallel to the ground - all without any help from wires! Everything from the musical score to photography in this film is first class. It has been rumored that the book will be released theatrically in the U.S. in early 2005.
