| The Godfather III (1990) Top 5 - 1990 Top 50 - 1990 The third part of the pioneer Francis Ford Coppola, impressive trilogy of the mafia and its derivatives. It could have ended in 1974 with the exceptional Part II. The second film might have been even more time to give us an encapsulation of what happened to the Corleone family in the following decades. Part III is by no means a bad movie, it is indeed a very good, solid piece of cinema, but when compared to the tower first two parts of the trilogy, is shorter. This is a new study of the Corleone family and the Italian Mafia with an aging Don Michael struggling to make deals with the Vatican and legitimize his rule. Francis Ford Coppola assembled a cast of ages and writes again another great script to help Godfather Part III and cement as a very good movie. "A film. | I saw all the movies of trees in a weekend. If you have time, do it and get a very good sense of the continuity of the story of a family that includes over many generations. You get a very deep thought and emotion provoking experience. The three films are very good and I do not see why the third one has been discredited as the weakest. In my opinion, is so strong and brave as the first two. Perhaps the people who had seen the first two films made in the proximity of the short 72 'and 74', after 16 years of waiting had raised their expectations to levels almost unattainable? Another mystery to me is the critical assault for attacks on Sofia Coppola received for his image of the part of Mary Corleone. I thought it was excellent. I thought that his casting in the role has been a brilliant idea. She comes as a young, innocent, well-protected little girl just right for the part being played. Watch this movie and judge for yourselves. |
| Years have passed and Michael Corleone is now an old man. It has become the Godfather, everything that happens in the U.S. passes through their hands, which closes and puts presidents, governors ... But it lacks the more important to him: his family. In a last attempt to retrieve them, who tries to leave and crime and become a gentlemen, but the past did not allow him to do so. The best of the three? It is stupid to say, they are all just perfect. Al Pacino is as magnificent as the other two, and the inclusion of a very inspired Andy García (bad luck was never able to repeat a good part) and the rest of the cast are just wonderful. The development of the drama, after almost a Shakespearean tragedy, the strength of the scenes, is a film that deserves to be in the Olimp film. It is simply a masterpiece.
